Join us for a week of skiing in northern Italy with the Blue Ridge Ski Council.  Bormio is one of those little known (on this side of the Atlantic) areas that everyone who has been there wants to keep a secret!  Bormio is a beautiful historic town located in the province of Sondrio, Lombardy region of the Italian Alps. In addition to modern skiing facilities, the town is noted for the presence of a hot spring spa.  Due to its thermal baths Bormio has always attracted tourists. It is well known that members of the Roman aristocracy traveled to Bormio in order to enjoy warm baths in the mountainous scenery. Most of these thermal baths are still in use today. The town is centered around the historic Piazza Cavour and Via Roma. This used to be a main trading point on the route from Venice to Switzerland.  Bormio nowadays retains its unique medieval town centre, attracting many tourists from Milan and other cities.
 
The package price includes the following:
 
    • Roundtrip airfare from Dulles to Milan
      • For no airfare, deduct $650
    • Ground transfers between Milan and Bormio
    • A sightseeing stop at Lake Como on the way to Bormio
    • Seven nights lodging (double occupancy) at the 4-star Hotel Cristallo

Optional Post-trip Extension

The Italian Riveria

Cost - $480*
 
Finish up your week of skiing with a few days enjoying the semi-tropical beauty of the Italian Riveria.  This optional extension includes:
    • Transportation from Bormio to Santa Margherita di Ligure on the 14th
    • Three nights lodging (double occupancy) at the 4-star Lido Palace Hotel
    • Breakfast daily
    • Transportation from Santa Margherita to Milan Airport on the 17th

From Santa Margherita, it is an easy day trip to Monte Carlo (Monaco), Milan, the famous Cinque Terre hike along the coast, Portofino or just enjoy Genoa and the surrounding beautiful villages on the Mediterranean.
